"The cost of living in Heidelberg is generally considered to be quite high. Rent prices for apartments in the city center are particularly expensive, while rent prices for apartments in the suburbs are more affordable. Groceries and other everyday items are also quite expensive, but there are some discounts available for students. Transportation costs are relatively low, with monthly passes for public transportation costing around €50. Overall, the cost of living in Heidelberg is higher than in many other cities in Germany," remarked another expat who made the move to Heidelberg, Germany.
