Transportation costs are also low, with affordable public transportation and relatively cheap gasoline prices. However, owning a car can be more expensive due to high import taxes. Healthcare is less expensive than in many Western countries, but the quality of care can vary. Private healthcare is available and is still generally cheaper than in the United States.
