Rent for a one-bedroom apartment in the city center can be quite expensive, while apartments outside of the city center are slightly more affordable. Groceries in Scheveningen are priced similarly to the rest of the Netherlands, with fresh produce, dairy, and meat being relatively affordable. However, dining out can be quite expensive, especially in the beachfront restaurants and cafes that are popular with tourists. Transportation costs in Scheveningen are also a consideration. While the town itself is walkable, many residents commute to The Hague or other nearby cities for work. Public transportation is reliable and widely used, but owning a car can be quite expensive due to high fuel costs and parking fees. Healthcare in the Netherlands is of a high standard, but it is not free.
