Public transportation in Portimao is also quite affordable, with a monthly pass costing less than in many other European cities. Gasoline prices are a bit high, similar to the rest of Europe. Healthcare in Portimao is of good quality and is not very expensive. Private health insurance is affordable and public healthcare is free for residents.
