What are healthcare services like in Knysna?

Answer this Question

We asked retirees if they have access to good medical care in Knysna. They wrote...

"Healthcare services in Knysna are a mix of both public and private facilities. The town has a government-funded hospital, the Knysna Provincial Hospital, which provides a range of services including emergency care, maternity services, and outpatient clinics. There are also several private clinics and practices offering specialized services such as dentistry, physiotherapy, and optometry. The quality of healthcare can vary, with private facilities generally offering a higher standard of care, but at a higher cost. Despite this, the public healthcare system is continually improving, with efforts being made to increase accessibility and quality of care for all residents. The town also has several pharmacies where prescription and over-the-counter medications can be purchased," explained one expat living in Knysna, South Africa.
