The island has several well-equipped hospitals and clinics that offer a wide range of medical services, from general check-ups to emergency treatments. The doctors and medical staff are highly trained, many of whom have international qualifications and can speak English fluently. Private healthcare in Koh Samui is known for its excellent patient care and modern facilities. These hospitals are equipped with the latest medical technology and offer services such as surgery, dental care, eye care, and maternity care. They also have specialists in various fields, including cardiology, orthopedics, and neurology. Public healthcare in Koh Samui is also available, but it may not be as advanced or comprehensive as private healthcare. However, it is significantly cheaper and can be a good option for minor illnesses or injuries. Pharmacies are widely available throughout the island, and most medications can be purchased without a prescription. However, it's recommended to bring a sufficient supply of any necessary prescription medications, as not all medications may be available. Despite the high standard of healthcare in Koh Samui, it's recommended for visitors to have comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical expenses, as healthcare can be expensive, particularly for complex treatments or procedures.
