What are healthcare services like in Cat Island?

Answer this Question

We asked retirees if they have access to good medical care in Cat Island. They wrote...

"Healthcare services in Cat Island are quite limited due to its remote location and small population. The island has a few clinics that provide basic medical care, including routine check-ups, minor surgeries, and emergency services. These clinics are typically staffed by nurses, with doctors visiting periodically from larger islands. For more serious or specialized medical conditions, residents often have to travel to Nassau or other larger cities in the Bahamas. The island's healthcare facilities may lack certain advanced medical equipment and resources, which can also necessitate travel for certain treatments. Despite these challenges, the Bahamian government has made efforts to improve healthcare accessibility and quality on Cat Island and other remote islands," remarked another expat in Cat Island, Bahamas.
