"Healthcare services in Kampong Speu are quite basic and limited due to the rural nature of the province. The area is served by a few public health centers and one provincial hospital, which are often understaffed and lack necessary medical equipment and supplies. Many residents rely on traditional medicine or self-medication due to the lack of accessible and affordable healthcare. The quality of healthcare is generally lower than in urban areas, with common issues including a lack of trained healthcare professionals, inadequate facilities, and limited access to advanced medical treatments. Despite these challenges, efforts are being made to improve healthcare in Kampong Speu, with various NGOs and government initiatives working to train healthcare workers, improve facilities, and increase access to medical services," explained one expat living in Kampong Speu, Cambodia.
