"Healthcare services in Kampong Thom are quite basic and limited due to the rural nature of the region. The province has a few public hospitals and health centers, but they often lack modern medical equipment and trained staff. Many residents rely on traditional medicine or self-treatment due to the lack of accessible and affordable healthcare. The quality of healthcare is generally lower than in urban areas, with common issues including a lack of clean water, sanitation, and preventative care. Despite these challenges, there have been efforts to improve healthcare in Kampong Thom, such as the establishment of community-based health insurance and the training of local health volunteers. However, these initiatives are still in their early stages and have yet to significantly impact the overall health of the population," commented one expat who made the move to Kampong Thom, Cambodia.
