What are healthcare services like in Tortola?
We asked retirees if they have access to good medical care in Tortola. They wrote...
"Healthcare services in Tortola, British Virgin Islands, are generally of a good standard. The main healthcare facility is the Peebles Hospital in Road Town, which offers a range of services including emergency care, surgical procedures, maternity care, and outpatient services. There are also several private clinics and practices throughout the island that provide general and specialist medical services. However, for more complex medical conditions or emergencies, patients may need to be evacuated to a larger hospital in Puerto Rico or the United States. The cost of healthcare can be high, particularly for non-residents, so travel insurance is strongly recommended. Despite these challenges, the healthcare staff in Tortola are known for their professionalism and dedication to patient care," remarked another expat who made the move to Tortola, the British Virgin Islands.
