What are healthcare services like in Acapulco?
We asked retirees if they have access to good medical care in Acapulco. They wrote...
"Healthcare services in Acapulco are quite diverse, ranging from public hospitals to private clinics. The public healthcare system is accessible to all residents, but it can be crowded and may not offer the same level of care as private facilities. Private healthcare in Acapulco is generally of a high standard, with many doctors and specialists trained abroad. These private facilities often have more advanced equipment and shorter wait times, but they can be expensive. Pharmacies are widely available throughout the city, and many medications can be purchased without a prescription. Emergency services are also available, but response times can vary. It's recommended for visitors to have travel insurance that covers medical expenses. Despite the availability of healthcare services, some complex medical conditions may require treatment in larger cities or even outside of Mexico," remarked another expat who made the move to Acapulco, Mexico.
