These cities have larger hospitals with more specialized care. Despite the limitations, the local clinic in Santa Catalina is known to provide good basic care and the staff is praised for their dedication to the community. The government has also been making efforts to improve healthcare services in these remote areas. However, it's recommended for visitors to have travel insurance that covers medical evacuation, as the local facilities may not be equipped to handle serious or complex medical conditions," explained one expat living in Santa Catalina, Panama.
