"Healthcare services in Siargao Island, are relatively limited compared to urban areas. The island has a few small clinics and rural health units that provide basic medical services, such as consultations, minor treatments, and vaccinations. There is one district hospital, the Siargao District Hospital, which offers more comprehensive care, including emergency services, inpatient care, and minor surgeries. However, the hospital may lack advanced medical equipment and specialized doctors. For more complex medical issues or emergencies, patients may need to travel to larger cities like Surigao City or Cebu City. Additionally, private clinics and pharmacies are available, but they may have limited supplies and medications. It is recommended for visitors to have travel insurance and bring essential medications with them," wrote a member who made the move to Siargao Island, Philippines.
