What are healthcare services like in Coron?

Answer this Question

We asked retirees if they have access to good medical care in Coron. They wrote...

"Healthcare services in Coron are relatively basic, with a few public and private healthcare facilities available. The Coron District Hospital is the main public healthcare provider, offering general medical services, emergency care, and minor surgeries. There are also a few private clinics and pharmacies in the town that provide medical services. However, for more serious or specialized medical conditions, patients often have to travel to larger cities like Puerto Princesa or Manila. The healthcare staff in Coron are generally well-trained and professional, but language barriers can sometimes be an issue for foreign patients. Health insurance is highly recommended for visitors, as medical costs can be high for non-residents. Despite these challenges, the healthcare system in Coron is continually improving, with ongoing efforts to upgrade facilities and services," said another expat in Coron, Philippines.
