"Yangon, the largest city in Myanmar, does experience crime, but the overall crime rate is considered to be relatively low compared to other major cities in the region. Common types of crime in Yangon include petty theft, pickpocketing, and bag snatching, particularly in crowded areas and tourist hotspots. Violent crime is less common, but instances of assault and robbery do occur. Additionally, there have been reports of scams targeting tourists and foreigners. It is important for visitors to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety while in Yangon," remarked another expat in Yangon, Myanmar.
