"Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, has seen an increase in crime in recent years. The city has experienced a rise in violent crime, including homicides, robberies, and assaults. Drug trafficking and gang activity are also a problem in the city. The Dominican government has taken steps to address the issue, including increasing police presence and implementing tougher laws.
