"Jeju Island, is generally considered a safe destination for both residents and tourists. The crime rate is relatively low compared to other regions in Korea. Most reported crimes are minor offenses such as petty theft, particularly targeting tourists. Violent crime is rare, and the island is known for its peaceful atmosphere. However, like any other place, it is always recommended for visitors to take standard precautions to protect their belongings and personal safety. The local police force is efficient and responsive, contributing to the overall safety of the island," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Jeju Island, Korea.
