"Furniture, shoes and textiles seem to be the top industries. Career opportunities at present are not so plentiful. The economy has problems here just as it does everywhere else in the world," remarked another expat who made the move to Dongguang, China.

"Foreigners often work in Dongguang as English teachers, translators, marketers, engineers, IT professionals, in the hospitality industry, or in other fields that require international expertise or labor. Many foreigners have management and executive positions in multinational corporations.
