Is there a lot of diversity? Are people in Salalah accepting of differences?
When we asked people about diversity in Salalah and whether locals are accepting of differences, they said...
"Salalah is a conservative Muslim town where most local women still are completely covered. As a non- Muslim expat you can wear what ever you like but it is very much appreciated if you cover your legs & arms. Muslim expat women are expected to cover up much more. The contact with locals is usually work-related but the people of Salalah are interested in us "strangers"," wrote a member who made the move to Salalah, Oman.
