What do I need to know before retiring in Kingston?

Answer this Question

When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Kingston, they said...

"Jamaica is a beautiful island as are most of the people. But it’s not an easy place to live and you have to be fairly resilient to do so," said another expat in Jamaica.

"Before retiring in Kingston, expats should research the cost of living and the availability of healthcare services. It is also important to familiarize oneself with the local culture and customs, as well as the climate and weather patterns. Additionally, expats should consider the safety and security of the area, as well as the availability of transportation and other amenities. Finally, expats should ensure that they have the necessary visas and permits to live and work in Jamaica," wrote a member who made the move to Kingston, Jamaica.
