What should I pack when moving to Santander?

Answer this Question

We asked people living in Santander to list three things they wish they had brought and three they wish they had left behind. They responded...

"When moving to Santander, you should pack a variety of clothing to accommodate for the city's mild, oceanic climate. This includes lightweight clothing for the summer months, as well as warmer clothing for the cooler winter months. Don't forget to pack a good quality raincoat or umbrella, as Santander is known for its rainy weather. Pack your essential documents such as your passport, visa, driver's license, and any necessary medical records. It's also a good idea to bring copies of these documents, just in case. If you take prescription medication, make sure to bring an adequate supply, along with a copy of your prescription. It's also recommended to pack a basic first aid kit for minor health issues. Bring your electronic devices such as your laptop, smartphone, and e-reader. Don't forget to pack the appropriate chargers and adapters for these devices, as the electrical outlets in Spain may be different from those in your home country. Pack personal hygiene items, but keep in mind that you can also buy these in Santander. This includes items like toothpaste, shampoo, and deodorant. If you wear glasses or contact lenses, bring an extra pair along with your prescription. Pack some of your favorite non-perishable snacks from home, especially if you have dietary restrictions or allergies. Lastly, consider packing a few items to make your new place feel like home, such as photos, a favorite blanket, or a beloved book," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Santander, Spain.
