You should also consider packing a good pair of walking shoes for exploring the beautiful surroundings, and a pair of flip-flops for the beach. If you plan on snorkeling or diving in the Great Barrier Reef, you might want to bring your own gear, although it can also be rented locally. Remember to bring any prescription medications you need, along with copies of your prescriptions. It's also a good idea to pack a basic first aid kit. If you're planning on working or studying, don't forget to pack your necessary documents, such as your passport, visa, driver's license, and any work or study permits.
