What should I pack when moving to Armenia?
We asked people living in Armenia to list three things they wish they had brought and three they wish they had left behind. They responded...
"When moving to Armenia, you should pack lightweight clothing suitable for a warm climate, such as shorts, t-shirts, and sundresses. Bring a few long-sleeved shirts and pants for cooler evenings or mosquito protection. Don't forget comfortable walking shoes, sandals, and a hat for sun protection. Pack a lightweight rain jacket or umbrella, as Armenia experiences frequent rainfall. Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated and reduce plastic waste. Pack any prescription medications you need, along with a basic first aid kit and over-the-counter medications like pain relievers and stomach remedies. Bring important documents, such as your passport, visa, driver's license, and any necessary medical records. Make sure to have copies of these documents stored separately from the originals. Pack a Spanish-English dictionary or phrasebook to help with communication, as well as a guidebook or map of the area. Pack a power adapter and voltage converter for your electronic devices, as Colombia uses a different voltage and plug type than many other countries. Don't forget your smartphone, charger, and any other essential electronics. Bring toiletries, such as toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, and soap, as well as any preferred personal care items that may be difficult to find in Armenia. Pack a travel-sized laundry detergent for washing clothes by hand if necessary. Lastly, pack a few personal items to make your new home feel more comfortable, such as family photos, a favorite book, or a small keepsake," said a member in Armenia, Colombia.
