What should I pack when moving to Playa Ocotal?

Answer this Question

We asked people living in Playa Ocotal to list three things they wish they had brought and three they wish they had left behind. They responded...

"When moving to Playa Ocotal, you should pack lightweight and breathable clothing due to the tropical climate. Include items such as shorts, t-shirts, and sundresses. Don't forget to pack a swimsuit or two for the beach, as well as a hat and sunglasses for sun protection. You should also pack a good pair of walking shoes or sandals, as you may be doing a lot of walking or hiking. If you plan on exploring the rainforests, consider packing a lightweight rain jacket or poncho. In terms of toiletries, pack travel-sized items to start, but remember that most things can be purchased locally. However, if you have specific brands or products you prefer, it may be a good idea to bring them with you. Don't forget to pack any necessary medications, along with a copy of your prescriptions. It's also a good idea to bring a basic first aid kit. Pack your important documents, such as your passport, driver's license, and any necessary visas or paperwork. It's also a good idea to have copies of these documents. If you plan on working or studying, don't forget to pack your laptop, chargers, and any other necessary electronics. Remember that Costa Rica uses a different type of plug, so you may need to bring a power adapter. Lastly, consider packing a few items to make your new place feel like home, such as photos or small mementos," remarked another expat who made the move to Playa Ocotal, Costa Rica.
