What should I pack when moving to Namur?
We asked people living in Namur to list three things they wish they had brought and three they wish they had left behind. They responded...
"When moving to Namur, you should pack a variety of clothing to accommodate for the country's temperate maritime climate, which includes mild summers and cool winters. This should include warm clothing like sweaters, jackets, scarves, gloves, and hats for the colder months, as well as lighter clothing for the warmer months. Rain gear, such as waterproof jackets and umbrellas, is also essential as Belgium experiences rainfall throughout the year. Comfortable walking shoes are a must, as the city of Namur is best explored on foot. If you plan on cooking, consider packing some of your favorite non-perishable food items that may be hard to find in Belgium. Don't forget to pack your personal documents, including your passport, visa documents, driver's license, and medical records. If you're moving for work or study, remember to bring any necessary work materials or school supplies. Pack your electronics, including your laptop, phone, chargers, and any necessary adapters as Belgium uses Type E power sockets. Lastly, bring personal items that will make your new place feel like home, such as photos, small keepsakes, and favorite books. Remember to check the customs regulations before packing to ensure you're not bringing any prohibited items," commented one expat who made the move to Namur, Belgium.
