What should I pack when moving to Kathmandu?

Answer this Question

We asked people living in Kathmandu to list three things they wish they had brought and three they wish they had left behind. They responded...

"When moving to Kathmandu, it is important to pack clothing suitable for the climate. Lightweight, breathable fabrics such as cotton and linen are ideal for the hot and humid summers. For the cold winters, warm layers such as sweaters, jackets, and scarves are essential. It is also important to bring a good pair of walking shoes, as Kathmandu is a city of hills and cobblestone streets. Additionally, it is a good idea to bring a few basic toiletries, as well as any medications you may need. Finally, don't forget to bring a few items to make your new home feel like home, such as photos, books, and other personal items," said a member in Kathmandu, Nepal.
