Bring a scarf or shawl to cover your head and shoulders when visiting religious sites. Bring a variety of toiletries, including sunscreen, insect repellent, and any medications you may need. Pack a few books or magazines to help pass the time, as well as a laptop or tablet to stay connected with family and friends.
