How do I find a place to live in Veszprem?

Answer this Question

We asked expats how they chose their neighborhood and found a place to live. They answered...

"Finding a place to live in Veszprem, involves several steps. First, you need to determine your budget and the type of accommodation you're looking for. This could range from a single room to a full apartment or house. Next, you should start your search online. Websites like ingatlan.com, alberlet.hu, and rentingo.com are popular real estate websites in Hungary where you can find listings for apartments and houses for rent or sale. You can filter your search based on location, price, size, and other features. Another good resource is local newspapers and bulletin boards in supermarkets or community centers, which often have listings for available rentals. You can also consider hiring a real estate agent. They can help you navigate the local market, arrange viewings, and negotiate contracts. Make sure to choose an agent who is registered and has a good understanding of the local market. If you're moving for work, check if your employer offers any relocation assistance. They may be able to provide resources or even temporary housing. Once you've found a potential place, arrange a viewing. Check the condition of the property, ask about utilities and any additional costs, and get a feel for the neighborhood. If you decide to proceed, you'll need to negotiate the terms of the lease, including the rent, the length of the lease, and any rules or restrictions. Make sure to get everything in writing. Finally, before moving in, you'll likely need to pay a security deposit and the first month's rent. Make sure to get a receipt for these payments. Remember, finding a place to live can take time, so start your search well in advance of your move," wrote a member who made the move to Veszprem, Hungary.
