"A typical expat home or apartment in Rio Dulce, is often located in a gated community or a secure building for safety. These homes are usually spacious, with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, a large kitchen, and a living area. They are often furnished with modern amenities such as air conditioning, high-speed internet, and cable TV. Many of these homes also have outdoor spaces like a patio or a balcony, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Some even come with a private dock, given the town's location on a river.
