The local economy is primarily based on agriculture and fishing, with a growing emphasis on tourism. Expats looking for work may find opportunities in these sectors, as well as in teaching or healthcare. Choiseul is known for its arts and crafts, particularly pottery and basket weaving. The community is also home to several festivals throughout the year, which celebrate the local culture and history. The climate in Choiseul is tropical, with a wet season from June to November and a dry season from December to May. Expats should be prepared for high temperatures and humidity year-round, as well as the possibility of hurricanes during the wet season.
