Healthcare in the UAE is of a high standard, but it can be expensive, so it's advisable to have comprehensive health insurance. The UAE has strict laws on alcohol consumption, which is only permitted in licensed venues and private homes, and it's illegal to drink in public or to be drunk in public. The UAE also has zero tolerance for drug use. Expats should also know that they will need a residence visa to live in the UAE, and the process can be complex and time-consuming. It's also worth noting that the UAE does not have a formal retirement visa, so expats typically need to secure a job or start a business to obtain a residence visa.
