Where should I setup a bank account in Tokyo?

Answer this Question

We asked expats in Tokyo what banks they use and there advice about banking. They advised...

"The Post Office, one of the main banks in Japan, provides banking services in Tokyo. Other banks and financial institutions in the city include Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Resona Bank, Citibank Japan, and Japan Post Bank. Foreign banks such as HSBC and Standard Chartered also have branches in Tokyo. Additionally, there are many online banks and credit unions that offer banking services in Tokyo," explained one expat living in Tokyo, Japan.
