"45 minutes to a private hospital, 1 hr 30 minutes to a public hospital. Local ambulances provide local emergency care although severe medical issues may require 45 minutes or more to a hospital," remarked another expat who made the move to Tamarindo, Costa Rica.
"Emergency services in Tamarindo are provided by the Red Cross. In the event of an emergency, you can call 911 to request an ambulance. The Red Cross also provides medical assistance and first aid services. In addition, the local fire department is available to respond to fires and other emergencies," explained one expat living in Tamarindo, Costa Rica.
