Will I need to travel to see a specialist?

Answer this Question

When we asked members in Kabul if they typically need to travel to see specialists, they replied...

"Yes, there are a variety of medical specialists available in Kabul. People are able to access general medical care at a number of clinics, hospitals, and health centers in the city and its surrounding areas. For highly specialized medical care, the country is home to a number of excellent training facilities, research centers, and hospitals, many of which are supported by international medical organizations. These medical centers provide access to quality care, including advanced techniques and treatments that may not be widely available in other parts of the country. Additionally, Kabul is also home to a number of private medical practices, which provide care for more complex medical needs," commented one expat who made the move to Kabul, Afghanistan.
