As a foreigner living in Barcelona, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?
We asked expats in Barcelona if they have access to public healthcare in Barcelona. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...
"Yes, as a foreigner living in Barcelona, you will have access to public healthcare. The public healthcare system in Spain is known as the National Health System (SNS) and is funded by the government. It provides free or low-cost healthcare to all citizens and legal residents, regardless of their nationality. The quality of care is generally good, with a wide range of services available, including primary care, specialist care, hospital care, and mental health services. The SNS also provides access to prescription drugs at a reduced cost," said a member in Barcelona, Spain.
