Public hospitals in Chiang Mai are generally well-equipped and staffed with qualified medical professionals, but they can be crowded and have longer waiting times compared to private hospitals. It is recommended for foreigners to have private health insurance to cover any medical expenses and to access private hospitals, which offer a higher standard of care and shorter waiting times," remarked another expat in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
