As a foreigner living in Antalya, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?

Answer this Question

We asked expats in Antalya if they have access to public healthcare in Antalya. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...

"As a foreigner living in Antalya, you will have access to public healthcare, but you will need to obtain a residence permit and register for the national health insurance system, called SGK. Once registered, you can access public healthcare services at state hospitals and clinics. However, it is important to note that public healthcare in Turkey may not be up to the standards you are used to in your home country. The facilities may be crowded, and there might be language barriers with the medical staff. Many foreigners living in Turkey opt for private healthcare, which offers better facilities, shorter waiting times, and English-speaking staff. It is recommended to have private health insurance to cover the costs of private healthcare," remarked another expat who made the move to Antalya, Turkey.
