Punta del Diablo Beach in Uruguay

As a foreigner living in Punta del Diablo, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?

Answer this Question

We asked expats in Punta del Diablo if they have access to public healthcare in Punta del Diablo. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...

"As a foreigner living in Punta del Diablo, you will have access to public healthcare. The public healthcare system in Uruguay is known as ASSE (Administración de los Servicios de Salud del Estado) and provides medical services to both citizens and residents. However, it is important to note that public healthcare facilities may not be as well-equipped or offer the same level of service as private healthcare providers. Additionally, there might be longer waiting times for appointments and treatments in public hospitals. It is recommended that foreigners living in Uruguay also consider obtaining private health insurance to ensure access to a wider range of medical services and higher quality care," explained one expat living in Punta del Diablo, Uruguay.
