As a foreigner living in Saipan, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?
We asked expats in Saipan if they have access to public healthcare in Saipan. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...
"As a foreigner living in Saipan, you may have access to public healthcare, but it depends on your residency status and whether you have the necessary documentation. Public healthcare in Saipan is provided through the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation (CHCC), which operates the only hospital on the island, the Commonwealth Health Center. The healthcare system in Saipan faces challenges such as limited resources, understaffed facilities, and a lack of specialized care. Many residents often travel off-island for more advanced medical treatments. It is recommended that foreigners also consider obtaining private health insurance to ensure access to comprehensive healthcare services while living in Saipan," commented one expat who made the move to Saipan, the United States.
