As a foreigner living in Paradise Island, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?
We asked expats in Paradise Island if they have access to public healthcare in Paradise Island. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...
"As a foreigner living in Paradise Island, you will have access to public healthcare, but it may not be as comprehensive as the healthcare system in your home country. The public healthcare system in the Bahamas is known to have long waiting times, limited resources, and a shortage of specialized medical professionals. Additionally, public hospitals and clinics may not be as well-equipped as private facilities. Many expats and foreigners choose to obtain private health insurance to ensure access to better quality healthcare services and facilities. It is also recommended to have a plan for medical evacuation in case of serious illness or injury, as specialized treatment may not be available locally," wrote a member who made the move to Paradise Island, Bahamas.
