As a foreigner living in San Ignacio, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?
We asked expats in San Ignacio if they have access to public healthcare in San Ignacio. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...
"As a foreigner living in San Ignacio, you will have access to public healthcare. However, the public healthcare system in Belize is known to be limited in terms of resources, facilities, and specialized care. You may find that the quality of care in public hospitals and clinics is not up to the standards you may be used to in your home country. It is recommended that you consider obtaining private health insurance to access better healthcare services in private hospitals and clinics. Additionally, for any serious medical conditions or emergencies, you may need to travel to a larger city or even another country for adequate treatment," wrote a member who made the move to San Ignacio, Belize.
