As a foreigner living in Salalah, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?
We asked expats in Salalah if they have access to public healthcare in Salalah. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...
"As a foreigner living in Salalah, you will have access to public healthcare, but it is primarily designed for Omani citizens. Expatriates may be required to pay for certain services or treatments. The public healthcare system in Oman is generally of good quality, with well-equipped hospitals and clinics, and qualified medical professionals. However, there might be long waiting times for non-emergency treatments. Many expatriates choose to opt for private healthcare, which offers a wider range of services and shorter waiting times, but at a higher cost. It is recommended to have comprehensive health insurance to cover any medical expenses while living in Salalah," remarked another expat in Salalah, Oman.
