As a foreigner living in Brno, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?

Answer this Question

We asked expats in Brno if they have access to public healthcare in Brno. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...

"As a foreigner living in Brnoublic, you will have access to public healthcare, provided you are a legal resident and are either employed or studying in the country. The Czech Republic has a universal healthcare system, which is funded by taxes and is available to all residents. The quality of healthcare in the Czech Republic is generally high, with well-trained medical staff and modern facilities. However, it's important to note that while emergency care is provided free of charge, some services may require a co-payment. Also, there might be language barriers as not all medical staff may speak English fluently. Therefore, it is advisable for foreigners to also have a private health insurance to cover any additional costs and to ensure access to English-speaking doctors," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Brno, Czechia.
