As a foreigner living in Haifa, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?
We asked expats in Haifa if they have access to public healthcare in Haifa. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...
"As a foreigner living in Haifa, you may have access to public healthcare if you have a valid residency permit and are registered with one of the four Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) in the country. Israel has a well-developed healthcare system, and Haifa has several hospitals and clinics that provide high-quality medical services. Public healthcare in Israel is known for its advanced medical technology, highly trained professionals, and comprehensive coverage. However, you might experience longer waiting times for non-urgent treatments and specialist appointments in public healthcare facilities. It is recommended to have private health insurance as well to cover any additional costs and ensure access to a wider range of services," commented one expat who made the move to Haifa, Israel.
