As a foreigner living in Nairobi, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?

Answer this Question

We asked expats in Nairobi if they have access to public healthcare in Nairobi. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...

"As a foreigner living in Nairobi, you will have access to public healthcare, but the quality and availability of services may vary. Public healthcare facilities in Nairobi are often overcrowded and under-resourced, with long waiting times and limited access to specialized care. Additionally, public hospitals may lack essential equipment and medications. Many foreigners and expatriates in Nairobi choose to use private healthcare facilities, which offer better quality care and shorter waiting times, but at a higher cost. It is advisable to have comprehensive health insurance to cover the costs of private healthcare," said another expat in Nairobi, Kenya.
