"I like the neighborhood I live in for there is everything you need or possiblly think of. And in summer time you can go to a lake, one by walking, the other using a trolley or bus with a few stops and then some walking. It's all great. Public transportation is great too," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Kiev, Ukraine.
"Expats and digital nomads generally like the low cost of living in Kiev, which allows them to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle without breaking the bank. They appreciate the city's rich history, beautiful architecture, and vibrant culture, which includes numerous museums, galleries, and theaters. The food scene in Kiev is diverse and delicious, with a wide range of local and international cuisines available at affordable prices. Public transportation is efficient and inexpensive, making it easy to get around the city. Additionally, the people in Kiev are often described as friendly and welcoming to foreigners. On the other hand, expats and digital nomads may dislike the language barrier, as not everyone in Kiev speaks English, and it can be challenging to navigate daily life without some knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian. The bureaucracy and paperwork involved in obtaining visas and work permits can be frustrating and time-consuming. The weather in Kiev can be harsh, with cold winters and hot summers, which may not be suitable for everyone. Air pollution is also a concern in the city, as it can negatively impact the quality of life.
