What do people like (and dislike) about Da Nang?
When we asked expats and global nomads what they like and dislike about living in Da Nang, they replied...
"Expats and digital nomads generally like living in Da Nang, for its affordable cost of living, which allows them to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle without breaking the bank. They appreciate the city's modern infrastructure, including reliable internet, which is essential for remote work. The beautiful beaches, such as My Khe Beach, are a major draw for those who enjoy spending time by the ocean. The city's vibrant food scene, with a mix of local Vietnamese cuisine and international options, is another aspect that expats and digital nomads enjoy. The friendly and welcoming locals make it easy for foreigners to feel at home in Da Nang. Additionally, the city's central location in Vietnam makes it convenient for exploring other parts of the country and Southeast Asia. On the other hand, expats and digital nomads may dislike the language barrier, as not everyone in Da Nang speaks English, which can make communication and daily tasks challenging. The hot and humid climate can be uncomfortable for those not used to tropical weather. Traffic can be chaotic, and the driving habits of locals may take some getting used to. Air pollution can be an issue, particularly during the burning season. Finally, while the expat community in Da Nang is growing, it is not as large as in other cities like Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi, which may make it harder for some to find a support network or socialize with fellow expats," said another expat in Da Nang, Vietnam.
