What do people like (and dislike) about Hamilton?

Answer this Question

When we asked expats and global nomads what they like and dislike about living in Hamilton, they replied...

"Bermuda is friendly and easy to live in. It is very expensive, but also surrounded by beautiful water and scenery. It takes some adjustment to live on an island that is only 22 miles long and about 2 miles wide, with only 62,000 people. The culture is an amalgam of Bermuda, the United Kingdom and the U.S. The island is still affiliated with the UK and has certain traditions that come from that history. There are many organizations on the island to help you meet people, learn the history and culture and take advantage of the many activities available. The International Women's Club of Bermuda has members from all over the world, including Bermudians. There's also a NOMAD visa for those who can continue to work remotely for their employer/business in their home country, but want to live in Bermuda for one year," explained one expat living in Hamilton, Bermuda.

"Expats and digital nomads living in Hamilton, often like the beautiful beaches, crystal-clear waters, and stunning landscapes that the island offers. They appreciate the warm and sunny climate, which allows for various outdoor activities such as swimming, snorkeling, and sailing. The friendly and welcoming locals make it easy for expats to feel at home and integrate into the community. Hamilton is a small city with a relaxed atmosphere, making it easy to navigate and explore. The city also offers a range of international cuisine, catering to diverse tastes. On the other hand, expats and digital nomads may dislike the high cost of living in Hamilton, as Bermuda is known to be one of the most expensive places in the world. This includes high prices for housing, groceries, and dining out. The island's remote location can also make it challenging to travel to and from other countries, with limited flight options and relatively expensive airfares. Additionally, the job market in Bermuda can be competitive, with limited opportunities for expats in certain industries. Finally, some expats may find the slow pace of life and small size of the island to be too limiting, leading to a feeling of isolation or boredom over time," said another in Hamilton, Bermuda.
