What are medical services in Savusavu like?

Answer this Question

When we asked expats and global nomads about the quality of medical care in Savusavu, they replied...

"Medical services in Savusavu, are relatively limited compared to larger cities or more developed countries. The town has a small government-run hospital, Savusavu Subdivisional Hospital, which provides basic healthcare services, including emergency care, outpatient consultations, and maternity services. However, the hospital may not be equipped to handle more complex medical procedures or specialized treatments. For more advanced medical care, patients may need to travel to the larger hospitals in Labasa or Suva. Additionally, there are a few private clinics and pharmacies in Savusavu, offering general medical consultations and medications. It is essential for visitors to have comprehensive travel insurance that includes medical evacuation, as medical facilities in Savusavu may not meet the standards of those in more developed countries," remarked another expat in Savusavu, Fiji.
