What have your experiences during the pandemic with the local healthcare system been like?
When we asked expats and global nomads in Lake Chapala about their experiences during the pandemic with the local healthcare system, they replied...
"The pandemic has had a significant impact on the local healthcare system in Lake Chapala. Many of the local hospitals and clinics have had to reduce their services due to the lack of resources and personnel. Additionally, the local government has implemented strict safety protocols to protect healthcare workers and patients, such as mandatory masks and social distancing. Despite these challenges, the local healthcare system has been able to provide quality care to those in need. The local government has also provided financial assistance to those who cannot afford medical care. Overall, the local healthcare system has been able to provide adequate care during the pandemic, albeit with some challenges," remarked another expat who made the move to Lake Chapala, Mexico.
"Most everyone is wearing a mask. No stupid protests about encroaching on their rights," explained one expat living in Lake Chapala, Mexico.
